Growing up in London made it easy for me to complete the full time Horology Course at Hackney Technical College in 1986. This was the last year they ran the extended course, and it just managed to run with only seven of us! Here I was awarded a Hackney College prize and a British Horological Institute prize.
After qualifying I became the first person to be awarded a sponsored three year training placement with a “master craftsman”. This bursary was given by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. During this time I worked for Thomas Mercer Chronometers and sister company Sinclair Harding Clockmakers, in Cheltenham Gloucestershire.
I have lived in Malvern for over 20 years, and run a workshop in Malvern. Here I continue to do antique clock restoration alongside making my own design of mechanical automata.
I am proud to have restored two clocks for the Worcester Guildhall and one for the Upton-Upon-Severn Town Hall.
